Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care in the Emergency Department or ICU, using the nursing process to promote health, prevention, and restoration of life. You will delegate and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team to support patients and families.

The role requires an accredited nursing program graduate, an active RN license in Alabama, and BLS certification with ACLS/PALS as unit requirements.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in Emergency Department/ICU.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; education cannot be substituted.
• RN license required by Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to promote health and prevent illness.
• Identify patient needs using the AACN Synergy Model.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care with the health care team.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, podiatrists, podiatrist and/or dentist as needed.
• Deliver timely, cost-effective patient care with patient and family involvement.
