Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Bed Control on a per diem night shift. The BCN triages acuity, coordinates inter-unit bed assignments, and manages admissions from referring facilities and the ED. Proficient Epic use and strong prioritization are essential.

Ideal candidates have 5 years of acute care experience (ICU/ED preferred), a nursing license in Arizona, and a focus on efficient patient throughput and safe placements.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of acute care experience; preferably ICU or Emergency Department (ED) with Triage skills.
• Experience with bed management and patient throughput is preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic or equivalent EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Triage patient admissions requests for appropriateness of admission, status, and level of care.
• Facilitate timely bed assignments and admissions from referring facilities and ED.
• Coordinate with Admitting and physician teams to ensure accurate patient information and admission status.
• Maintain bed control workflow and use Epic for patient tracking and bed placement.
• Educate assigned personnel and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.
