Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking a Bed Control Nurse (BCN) to triage patient acuity, coordinate admissions from referring facilities to TMCH, and oversee inter-unit bed transfers. The BCN will work with the Emergency Department and Rincon location to ensure timely bed placement using Epic.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a qualified, nationally accredited nursing program; preferred BSN.
• Five (5) years of acute care experience; ICU or ED with triage skills.
• Current RN licensure permitting work in Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Triage patient acuity levels rapidly and accurately.
• Coordinate admissions from referring facilities to TMCH.
• Manage bed assignments and patient transfers using Epic system.
• Collaborate with Admitting department to ensure accurate patient information.
• Support Bed Control Nurse Manager with daily admission statistics.
• Educate assigned personnel and ensure safety and compliance.
