Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks a Clinical Nurse - Observation Unit to deliver patient care in an interdisciplinary team within the Observation Unit. The role requires collaboration with care teams to provide evidence-based treatment and individualized care.

This is a full-time night-shift position with 36 hours weekly. Minimum qualifications include Maryland RN licensure (or compact), BLS, and at least 1 year in acute care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification; additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to oncology, med/surg, and hospice patients.
• Administer medications, including chemotherapy (if certified), and monitor for side effects.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
• Offer emotional support and education to patients and families.
• Participate in discharge planning, pain management, and palliative care coordination.
