Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas seeks a competent registered nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The role involves independent practice, patient assessment and delivery of routine and complex care during night shifts. You will document care, monitor treatments, and support patients and families with education.

A BSN is preferred; licensure in good standing as an RN is required, along with BLS and critical care certifications or plans to obtain them within designated timeframes.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred
• 1 year of nursing experience preferred
• Current RN license in state of employment or compact
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS/TNCC within specified timeframes

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources.
