Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a capable Registered Nurse to provide independent nursing care in our ED/related units, with the ability to plan long-range patient care and delegate as needed. You will perform routine and complex nursing tasks, document care, and monitor patient responses.

The role requires a BSN preferred, at least 1 year in a related nursing specialty, and active RN license with BLS. ACLS/PALS/TNCC certifications must be current; orientation and onboarding are provided.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred or higher qualification.
• 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current RN license in state of employment or compact.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Educates patients, family members and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
