Job summary

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 36 hours per week on the Night Shift at our Christiana Hospital on the 3D Transitional Stepdown Unit. The TMU/3D team provides care for acutely ill adults with various diagnoses, including ventilator-dependent patients.

We emphasize patient- and family-centered care with collaboration across disciplines. Qualified candidates have a BSN, (ADN with 3-year BSN commitment acceptable), and at least one year of relevant experience,

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• ADN candidates considered with 3-year BSN completion commitment.
• Minimum one year of acute or sub-acute care experience.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver individualized care to adult patients with a respiratory focus.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including nursing, social work, pharmacy, and physicians.
• Manage ventilator care, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and wound care as needed.
• Monitor patients closely and respond to emergencies; document and report changes.
• Assist in transitions of patients to appropriate levels of care and manage 3–4 patient assignments.
