Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa seeks a Registered Nurse to join a fast-paced medical-surgical unit. You will provide high-quality nursing care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and operate across admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

The role requires Iowa RN licensure, BLS certification within six weeks, and completion of mandated abuse training within three months. Night/day shifts are available and the unit emphasizes growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter - Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers within six weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages.
• Delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Ensure safe patient handling and use of equipment (IV pumps, monitors, drainage devices).
• Initiate emergency response measures as needed.
• Guide healthcare personnel in patient care activities.
