Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for full-time night shifts. Under medical direction, you will provide respiratory therapies, diagnostics, and patient assessments across neonatal to geriatric populations.

The ideal candidate holds an RCP license, NBRC–RRT credentials, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS, with leadership experience preferred. This role emphasizes patient safety, documentation, and collaborative care with physicians and nurses.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential or within three (3) months of hire.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care services based on physician orders and patient needs.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, airway management, and mechanical ventilation support.
• Perform pulmonary diagnostic testing and monitor patient response to treatment.
• Assess and document respiratory status, treatment effectiveness, and changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies, code situations, and rapid response events as needed.
