Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center in Midlothian, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, and airway maintenance for both adults and neonates. The position operates under indirect supervision and requires licensing and board credentials.

Candidates must graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, hold BLS and ACLS, and obtain NRP and PALS within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, and airway maintenance.
• Performs diagnostic procedures such as ABG, PFTs, and ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside assessments and medical record review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks, and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
