Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc in Stratford, NJ is seeking a Part-Time/Night Respiratory Therapist to administer prescribed respiratory therapies and monitor patient progress. The role requires NBRC registration or progress toward it, an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program, and an active state license.

BLS certification is required; ACLS/NALS preferred. The therapist will work night shifts, handle PFTs/ABGs, document care activities, and collaborate with physicians to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Registered by the NBRC or must obtain NBRC registration within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with colleagues and patients in line with Jefferson values.
• Administers physician-prescribed respiratory therapy (oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, ventilation).
• Performs invasive/non-invasive evaluations to determine care needs and guides treatment per protocols.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation including rounds, weaning, airway care, and tests.
• Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath samples for diagnosis.
• Communicates results and treatment options to the health care team.
• Ensures smooth operation of PFT/ABG labs and related duties.
• Supports continuity of care and coordination with staff.
