Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from AMA-approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Registered in NBRC or eligible for NBRC registration within 2 years of hire.
• Associate's/2-year degree required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with coworkers, visitors and staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Administer physician-prescribed respiratory therapy (oxygen, meds, PFTs, ABGs, ventilation).
• Perform evaluation procedures to determine care needs and recommend plans per department protocols.
• Monitor patients on mechanical ventilation; assess, wean, care for airways and perform tests as needed.
• Collect samples (sputum, blood, breath) for diagnosis and monitor lung function.
• Provide diagnostic results and treatment suggestions to care team.
• Communicate with health care team to ensure continuity of care and coordination.
• Ensure smooth operation of PFT and ABG labs and related duties as assigned.
