Job summary

Jefferson Health is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory therapies, monitor ventilated patients, and collaborate with physicians to optimize care. The role covers diagnostic testing, patient assessment, and ongoing documentation to ensure quality standards are met.

The position requires an AMA-approved Respiratory Care education, NBRC licensure, and a state license, with BLS certification at minimum; ACLS preferred for advanced care scenarios.

Qualifications

• Requires NBRC credential and state licensure.
• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care with a degree.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine; BLS cert on hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers physician prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen, medications, PFTs and ABGs.
• Manages mechanical ventilation care and assessment, including weaning as needed.
• Performs invasive and non-invasive evaluation procedures to guide care.
• Monitors patients on ventilation, conducts rounds, and ensures safety.
• Collects sputum, blood and breath samples for diagnostic analysis.
• Communicates results and treatment ideas to the care team.
• Ensures smooth operation of PFT/ABG labs and related duties.
