Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our nocturnal team. You will perform ABG, PFTs, and various ventilator supports for adults and neonates, under indirect supervision. The role requires RRT certification and active licensing in Texas.

The department emphasizes respiratory assessment, airway maintenance, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Candidates should have BLS, ACLS, NBRC registration, and 6 months of experience, with NRP/PALS needed

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board.
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy and airway maintenance.
Perform and report arterial blood gas analyses, pulse oximetry and pulmonary function studies.
Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT data.
Assemble, check and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
Support infection control, safety and quality programs.
Maintain and clean equipment and work areas.
Utilize patient scripts to improve satisfaction.
Perform other duties as required.
