Job summary

New Roads Behavioral Health in Utah is seeking a Residential Mentor to support young adults in a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. You will build positive relationships, supervise daily activities, and help clients develop life skills through group sessions and outings.

You’ll assist with emotional management, assignments, and medication organization while communicating with the clinical team to ensure consistent care.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving, behavioral health, or working with young adults (preferred, not required)
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
• Interest in mental health and helping others grow

Responsibilities

• Build positive, supportive relationships with clients and serve as a role model
• Supervise daily activities and help maintain a structured, therapeutic environment
• Participate in group sessions, recreational activities, and outings
• Support clients in managing emotions, completing assignments, and developing life skills
• Assist with medication organization and ensure safety protocols are followed
• Document daily progress and communicate with the clinical team
• Help plan activities like shopping, recreation, and skill‑building exercises
