Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform ABG analyses, PFTs, and various forms of ventilator and oxygen therapy, including bronchial hygiene and airway maintenance. You will be proficient in respiratory assessment and treatment for adults and neonates under indirect supervision.

You will be expected to meet qualifications, maintain licensure, and participate in infection control and quality assurance while supporting patient care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support— must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, airway maintenance and ventilator support.
• Performs cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures: ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside assessments and medical record review.
• Uses critical thinking for appropriate actions.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots respiratory equipment.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
