Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in the Dallas area is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform ABG, PFTs, and varied ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, and airway maintenance. The candidate will treat adults and neonates under indirect supervision and adhere to department policies.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS and ACLS, Texas license, NBRC registration, and 6 months of experience preferred with new grads

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapies: oxygen, aerosol therapy, humidity, and ventilation support.
• Perform ABG, PFTs, pulse oximetry, and ECG as prescribed.
• Conduct bedside assessments and review patient records for treatment plans.
• Apply critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
• Interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Inspect and maintain all cardiopulmonary equipment; follow infection control.
