Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification.
NRP and PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
Texas license to practice Respiratory Care.
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol therapy and chest physiotherapy.
Performs arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function tests and ECGs.
Prepares treatment evaluations based on bedside assessment and patient history.
Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data to guide care.
Operates and troubleshoots respiratory equipment (ventilators, oxygen delivery devices, gas analyzers).
Maintains infection control, safety and quality standards; supports patient satisfaction.
