Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide diagnostic and therapeutic care for adults and neonates. You will perform ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, and airway management under indirect supervision.

The role requires BLS and ACLS, Texas license, and NBRC registration, with 6 months of experience. Expect a rotating 12x3 night shift and 0630-1900 schedule, with a commitment to safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy and bronchial hygiene.
• Reports arterial blood gas analyses, pulse oximetry and pulmonary function studies.
• Prepares a treatment evaluation from bedside assessment and records review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data to guide care.
• Assembles, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Contributes to infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
• Uses patient scripting to enhance satisfaction.
