Job summary

Memorial Health System - Ohio is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the 12-Hour Night Shift in Belpre, OH. You will participate in bedside handoffs, perform hourly rounding and lead discharge teaching while documenting in Meditech.

Responsibilities include initiating and coordinating care, communicating with physicians via SBAR, and maintaining a therapeutic patient-family relationship while ensuring policy-compliant practice and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in the State of Ohio as RN (or WV license if practicing in WV).
• BLS and annual stroke education certification required on hire.
• ACLS, PALS and TNCC required within 1 year of employment.
• ASLS certification preferred on hire.
• NRP within 1 year of employment.
• Maintain compliance in RQI.

Responsibilities

• Participates in bedside shift report/handoff.
• Performs hourly rounding.
• Obtains required patient assessments and reassessments per nursing policy.
• Coordinates timely teaching to patient/family in preparation for discharge and documents appropriately.
• Implements and monitors nursing interventions.
• Documents assessments, interventions and outcomes in Meditech within required timeframe.
• Participates in interdisciplinary rounding and collaborates with team members to identify patient needs.
• Communicates changes in patient conditions to physician using SBAR.
• Manages patient care and delegates according to patient needs and caregiver skill.
• Maintains interpersonal communication to foster productive team relationships.
• Establishes empathetic therapeutic relationships with patient, family and staff.
• Promotes a positive patient experience and seeks help when needed.
• Follows hospital policies and triages patients effectively.
• Develops care and teaching plans based on assessed needs; revises as needed.
• Coordinates with physician plan of care and discharge needs.
• Uses A.I.D.E.T. in patient interactions.
