Job summary

Qualifications

• RN – State of Florida license required
• Bachelor degree preferred
• Completion of general and nursing orientation
• Completion of unit orientation and competency checklist
• Excellent communication with patients, families and colleagues
• Certifications as required by unit/area
• Annual competency learning modules (CBL)
• Effective communication with physicians and team

Responsibilities

• Assess patient on admission and ongoing basis
• Assess patient/family learning needs
• Plan and coordinate care based on assessment
• Initiate teaching plan for patient discharge
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to achieve outcomes
• Administer medications per policy
• Document patient data and progress
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical practice
• Lead and mentor junior staff as needed
