Job summary

Qualifications

• Florida RN license required.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Completion of general and nursing orientation.
• Completion of unit orientation and unit-specific competency checklist.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Certifications as required by the unit/area.
• Completion of annual competency-based learning modules.
• Ability to assess and monitor patient condition and respond to changes.
• Documentation of assessments and plans of care.
• Advocacy and collaborative care with the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient on admission and ongoing, plan and coordinate care.
• Initiate and evaluate nursing care per the nursing process.
• Coordinate care with LPNs, CNAs, and support staff.
• Teach patients and families to understand their care and discharge plan.
• Administer medications according to policy and physician orders.
• Document data and respond to changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines to achieve outcomes.
• Ensure confidentiality and ethical practice and uphold hospital standards.

Education

Florida RN license

Bachelor degree preferred

General and nursing orientation completed

Unit orientation and competency checklist completed

Excellent communication skills

Unit-specific certifications as required

Annual competency-based learning modules
