Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an experienced registered nurse to deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, from admission to discharge. The role emphasizes patient assessment, discharge planning, and coordination with the health care team.

The position requires MA licensure, an accredited nursing program, and BLS (ACLS as required per unit). It is a non-exempt, night shift role with a 12-hour schedule and opportunities for a signing bonus during interview eligibility.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts licensure and registration required.
• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification required; ACLS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process to plan and manage patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment according to policy.
• Assists physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required.
• Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.
• Assumes responsibility for professional growth.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
