Job summary

Halifax Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Adult Psychiatry in Florida. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, directing and coordinating nursing staff including LPNs and CNAs.

Responsibilities include patient assessment on admission, ongoing monitoring, education, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes. The role requires Florida RN licensure, a nursing degree (BSN preferred), orientation completion, and strong communication skills

Qualifications

• RN – State of Florida license
• Bachelor degree in Nursing preferred
• Completion of general and nursing orientation
• Completion of unit orientation and unit-specific competency checklist
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Certifications as required by unit/area
• Completion of annual competency-based learning modules
• Excellent communication with patients, families and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Assess patients on admission and ongoing basis
• Plan and coordinate care based on patient status
• Implement nursing care and monitor progress
• Direct and delegate care to LPNs, CNAs and unit staff
• Involve family in plan of care
• Initiate individualized teaching to ensure outcomes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to achieve patient outcomes
• Administer medications per policy
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical standards
• Adhere to Cornerstone standards and hospital values
• Report to work as scheduled
• Participate in staff orientation and professional development
• Contribute to a safe environment and quality improvement initiatives
