Qualifications

• Must use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient and plan care.
• Basic computer skills – navigate Windows-based programs.
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written).
• Equipment to stabilize and monitor patients (EMR and Pyxis).
• Proficient clinical skills, critical thinking, and strong communication.
• Commitment to hourly patient rounding and EKG interpretation class.
• Independent judgment and calm under stress in clinical situations.
• Ability to prioritize multiple duties and work professionally.
• Knowledge of nursing principles and pharmacology in medication administration.
• Ability to communicate to direct nursing services and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medications accurately and monitor patient responses.
• Supervise nursing personnel and ensure adherence to policies.
• Educate patients and families about the care plan and medications.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures and tests preparation.
• Monitor lab work and report abnormal results.
• Provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Maintain a safe, infection-controlled environment.
• Document all patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based projects.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with healthcare team.
