Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Nights 3:3 shift in the SDU. The RN will deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process and collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include administering medications, coordinating admissions/discharges, and guiding non-licensed staff. Must have TX RN license and ACLS within 3 months; BSN preferred, bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing required (BSN preferred).
• Current registered nurse’s license in the State of Texas required.
• ACLS certification within three (3) months of hire.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• English and Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures care is delivered to each patient in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of Texas and ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice.
• Performs family-centered evidence-based nursing care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Implements physician’s orders in a safe and accurate manner.
• Assists with admitting, discharging and transferring patients.
• Transcribes and implements new physician orders.
• Maintains detailed and accurate records of nursing actions.
