Job summary

Amrize in Rockville, MD is seeking a Night Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain heavy quarry equipment. This role focuses on ensuring safe, continuous production operations with strong emphasis on preventative maintenance and timely repairs.

You will work with a team of maintenance personnel, following OSHA guidelines and PPE protocols for night shifts at the Rockville quarry. Experience in quarry or industrial settings is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required Work Experience: Experience in Quarry or Industrial Settings.
• Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of heavy equipment and plant systems.
• Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic issues.
• Welding and Fabrication Ability: Skilled in welding, cutting, and fabricating metal parts for repairs.
• Safety Awareness: Committed to following all safety rules in a heavy machinery environment.
• Prior hands-on experience maintaining and repairing equipment in a quarry, mining, or industrial environment.
• Reliability and Work Ethic: Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical Strength and Endurance: Capable of physically demanding outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy mobile equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical issues and repair.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns during the night shift to restore operations.
• Conduct welding, fabrication, cutting, and mechanical repairs as needed.
• Replace and repair bearings, belts, chains, pulleys, motors, gearboxes and related parts.
• Monitor equipment condition and identify potential failures or safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate issues to the day team.
• Follow safety policies, lockout/tagout and PPE requirements on site.
