Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. in Delaware, OH is seeking a Laboratory Technician to operate onsite in our QC Labs. You will validate raw material and finished product samples, identify result abnormalities, and support continuous improvement and project initiatives within the QC team and across functions.

The role requires a BS degree in a science, 1 year of lab experience, and availability for 3rd shift (11 pm–7 am) including weekends. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related science is required.
• Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
• At least 1 year of academic or professional laboratory experience.
• Night shift availability (3rd shift) and ability to work weekends.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify and troubleshoot QC result abnormalities and take action.
• Test production samples per SOPs and record results accurately.
• Support continuous improvement projects and timelines.
• Collaborate with QC, production, and technical teams to disposition batches.
• Maintain equipment and perform calibrations.
• Maintain lab inventory and 6S in the workspace.
• Adhere to Delaware's Quality Management System requirements.
• Complete development plans and RCA tasks as assigned.

Chemistry/Biochemistry/Chemical Engineering degree (preferred)
