Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is recruiting a Quality Assurance Supervisor for a beverage manufacturer in the Roanoke area, VA. This night-shift leadership role oversees QA on the production floor and in the laboratory to ensure food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Base salary is $65,000–$75,000, with a Monday–Thursday 6:00 PM–6:00 AM schedule and possible weekend/holiday coverage. You will develop the QA team, review testing results, support audits, and collaborate with production and other

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable college or technical education, with a background in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or a related discipline.
• One to three years of relevant work experience.
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production setting.
• Availability to work the stated overnight schedule, with flexibility for additional coverage.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the production floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, set daily priorities, and communicate expectations for quality, safety, and timely completion of work.
• Develop team members through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to address quality concerns and maintain food safety standards.
• Oversee assigned quality management programs, including documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Support compliance with regulatory, certification, customer, and product specifications.
• Review laboratory results for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify unfavorable trends.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing data and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with internal audits and external regulatory, certification, and customer assessments.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen product quality and customer satisfaction.
