Job summary

Atkore International is hiring a Machine Operator I for the night shift (8:00pm – 8:00am) in Louisville, KY. The role requires operating PVC extrusion lines, monitoring product quality, and using micrometer and O.D. tape to ensure specifications are met.

Candidates should be able to lift 50 pounds and work safely in a fast-paced environment. Base pay is $23.00 per hour with a $1.00 per hour shift differential.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
• Extrusion experience or the ability to quickly learn Atkore's PVC extrusion operation and change over procedures.
• Able to read micrometer and O.D. tape.
• Able to change print lines.

Responsibilities

• Run all aspects of the PVC extrusion lines ensuring that product meets all applicable internal and external specifications.
• Understand and master the computerized systems associated with the extrusion, control, and printing technologies.
• Test and measure product to ensure pipe products are made in conformance with required specifications.
• Perform inspections of proper print, wall, O.D., length, appearance, and bell fit on all lines.
• Identify quality issues.
• Complete Quality Control forms accurately and correctly.
• Monitor pipe physicals.
