Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic Intake Clinician to join our behavioral health team. The fully licensed professional will obtain initial clinical intake information for admission decisions and coordinate evaluations with physicians for appropriate care levels.

The role requires RN or MSW licensure in Michigan with 1–3 years of mental health experience, and may involve on-call duties. Work site is Havenwyck Hospital in Auburn Hills, with opportunities for professional growth within UHS.

Qualifications

• Minimum of associates in nursing, bachelor of nursing, preferred, or masters of social work degrees.
• Current license in Michigan as a Fully Licensed Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• 1–3 years of experience providing mental health services, preferably in a psychiatric hospital.
• Employment eligibility for internal transfer in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Obtains initial intake information.
• Provides clinical assessment and feedback during intake.
• Provides information to patients and referral sources regarding treatment programs, insurances information and admission procedures.
• Communicates with physicians and staff regarding anticipated admission.
• Provides follow-up to referral sources and patients awaiting admission.
• May perform screening evaluations to determine admission appropriateness.
• Provides referral assistance for patients assessed as inappropriate for admission.
• Maintains census records and coordinates admitting services to meet payor-mix and census objectives.
• Collects records and analyzes admitting statistics for required offices.
• Facilitates community relations with referral sources, patients and families.
• Participates in marketing projects as necessary.
• May be on call and attend mandatory trainings.
