Description

Three D Metals is currently looking for a night shift supervisor for the production department. We are looking for an energetic and adaptable candidate to lead our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who likes to be busy, enjoys working with people, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to every shift.

Schedule: Sunday Night - Thursday Night 7:30 PM - 6:00 AM

SUMMARY:

Coordinates orders to the production equipment and runs production of the plant efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
  • Works closely with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and shifts.
  • Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
  • Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
  • Enforces safety regulations and best practices are followed.
  • Reviews monthly performance of all employees with the plant manager.
  • Interprets specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
  • Keeps records of employees' timecards and time off.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Requisitions materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
  • Assist in determining standards, and production goals, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.
  • Recommends or implements measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, safety, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Recommends personnel actions, such as hiring, evaluation, or promotion.
  • Assist in the planning and development of new products and production processes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises hourly employees in the production department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to easily discern numbers to work with weights and measurements, accurately utilizing calculator, tape measure, calipers and scales.
  • Forklift Trainer Certified
  • Self-motivated and committed to safety as demonstrated through previous work
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, hands-on, team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable making decisions
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • 1+ year(s) of college or trade/technical school preferred
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook preferred
  • 3+ years of experience successfully leading, motivating and coaching a production team preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or warehouse required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
