Job summary

Dept_PhysLoc_OrgGroup is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead the night shift, ensuring safety, quality, and performance targets are met. This role directs, mentors, and trains production staff across processes to maintain standard product quality and production rates.

The supervisor will act as the senior decision-maker for the shift, manage staffing gaps, and drive disciplined communication and handoffs to the next shift, while enforcing safety and quality standards throughout operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership experience with accountability for safety, quality, and production performance.
• Experience leading an off-shift, night shift, weekend shift, or operation with limited direct supervision preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage competing priorities.
• Proven ability to coach and develop a diverse team and document performance issues.

Responsibilities

• Own night shift performance outcomes including safety, quality, production attainment, labor utilization, downtime response, scrap reduction, attendance, and employee conduct.
• Act as senior decision-maker for shift operations, resolve interruptions, staffing gaps, and safety risks with clear actions.
• Lead a safety-first shift culture with real-time safety corrections and PPE/compliance enforcement.
• Uphold quality standards, address defects, contain suspect product, and escalate with Quality or Engineering when needed.
• Establish a disciplined, respectful, and accountable work environment across the shift.
• Own the shift handoff process with complete, timely production status and follow-up actions for the next shift.
• Oversee training and skill development to ensure employees are properly trained and cross-trained.
• Analyze shift performance metrics and communicate results and countermeasures to plant leadership.
• Coordinate response to equipment issues and downtime with Maintenance and root-cause review support.
