Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a hands-on supervisor to oversee plant operations on the 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM shift (Friday–Sunday) at our Kansas City, MO facility. You will manage up to 30 employees, drive lean manufacturing practices, monitor quality and delivery performance, and coordinate daily production schedules and staffing with HR and the manufacturing team.

The role requires strong math and organizational skills, basic computer proficiency, and prior supervisory experience in a metal

Qualifications

Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience.
5S and Just-in-time production practices.
Strong leadership and workplace discipline.
Experience with production reporting and metrics.

Responsibilities

Oversee department operations including quality, delivery, labor cost control, material usage and inventory accuracy.
Plan daily job lineups to meet customer requirements; assess material, equipment and manpower needs.
Review work orders with staff each shift to ensure proper forms and data are completed.
Monitor quality at all stages of the process and ensure compliance with ISO/TS-16949 standards.
Coordinate workflow through manufacturing manager and forepersons; handle disciplinary concerns with HR.
Ensure proper handling and labeling of incoming/outgoing material; address shipping/receiving issues.
