Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking an experienced shift supervisor to oversee a manufacturing department in Kansas City, MO. You will manage quality, delivery, labor costs, and inventory, ensuring adherence to Lean principles and ISO/TS-16949 standards.

You will coordinate daily schedules, review work orders, and coach staff to meet productivity targets. Prior experience in metal stamping or assembly is preferred, with the ability to lead a team on a Z shift (5:00 PM - 5:00 AM) from Friday to

Qualifications

Must have supervisory experience (5+ years) overseeing up to 30 employees.
Experience implementing and maintaining Lean Manufacturing practices (5S, JIT).
Background in metal, stamping, or assembly manufacturing accepted.

Responsibilities

Oversee department operations: quality, delivery, labor cost, material usage, and inventory accuracy.
Plan lineups before shifts to meet customer requirements and coordinate with staff.
Review work orders and forms for accuracy; ensure ISO/TS-16949 compliance.
Provide coaching to achieve productivity, quality and delivery objectives.
Coordinate daily schedule with manufacturing manager and forepersons; address disciplinary issues with HR.
