Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking a Press Assistant on the 3rd shift in Maryland to support press setup, operation, and maintenance. The role focuses on safety, color consistency, and efficient production in a printing environment.

Responsibilities include verifying job specs, monitoring paper flow, and assisting with maintenance and make-readies, with an emphasis on teamwork and compliance with ISO quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a printing environment preferred.
• Some experience operating various hand tools preferred.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the press.
• Inspects fountain solution, inking systems, rolls of paper and related reels.
• Maintains inventory of paper; records usage and spoilage.
• Monitors flow of paper; prepares and installs new roll as needed.
• Works with press operators and assistants in preventive maintenance.
• Assists maintenance personnel with troubleshooting and repairs.
• May assist with make-readies.
• Adheres to safety policies including handling hazardous waste and lockout-tagout.
• Performs other duties and participates in special projects.
• All employees follow ISO Quality Manual processes.
