Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons in Minnesota is seeking a Press Assistant for a fixed 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The schedule runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Thursday.

The role involves preparing presses, inspecting ink/ink systems, managing paper inventory, mounting rolls, and assisting with maintenance. Night shift includes a $2 per hour differential and the usual benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Experience in operating various hand tools preferred.
• Previous printing environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare press for run by verifying specs and setup.
• Inspect fountain solution, inking systems, rolls, and reel mechanisms.
• Maintain inventory of paper; record usage and spoilage.
• Unwrap, mount, and splice paper rolls.
• Monitor paper flow; install new rolls as needed.
• Collaborate with press operators and assistants for preventive maintenance.
• Assist with ink, solvent, and varnish adjustments as required.
• Follow safety policies; handle hazardous waste and PPE.
• Support maintenance repairs and make-readies.
• Adhere to ISO quality manual processes.
