Job summary

RRD is seeking a Printing and Bindery Specialist for the 3rd shift in Laurel, MD. The role involves preparing presses, ensuring quality, maintaining paper supply, and collaborating with maintenance and other operators on the line.

Eligible candidates have printing experience and comfort with hand tools, and must work well in a team environment. The position offers hourly compensation of $31.53 with benefits and potential overtime, and adherence to ISO quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a printing environment preferred.
• Some experience in the operation of various hand tools preferred.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the press.
• Inspect the fountain solution, inking systems, rolls, and reel mechanisms.
• Maintain inventory of paper and record usage/spoilage on SPC report.
• Ensure the paper roll is properly unwrapped, mounted and ready to be spliced.
• Monitor the flow of paper and install new rolls as needed.
• Work with press operators and Assistants on preventative maintenance.
• Assist maintenance personnel with troubleshooting and repairs to presses.
• May assist with make-readies; adjust ink/solvent/varnish as required.
• Adhere to safety policies including hazardous waste handling and lockout/tagout rules.
• Perform other duties and ISO Quality Manual procedures.
