Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Powerhouse Technician for the night shift at the Central Utility Plant. You will operate, repair, document and perform preventive maintenance on powerhouse electro/mechanical systems, including stationary engines, boilers, generators and air conditioning equipment to ensure reliable utility services.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with Power Engineering Certification preferred; reading blueprints and schematics, knowledge of codes and at least 2 years of

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Power Engineering Certification preferred.
• General knowledge of stationary engines, electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with federal/state/local/OSHA and Joint Commission codes and regs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate, repair, document and perform preventive maintenance on powerhouse electro/mechanical systems.
• Operate stationary engines, boilers, generators, turbines, AC, distillers, water softeners and other equipment to provide utility services.
• Monitor meters and gauges to control water flow, fuel, steam pressure and oxygen per safety standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
