Job summary

Medxcel in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Facilities Technician for the night shift at St. Vincent's Hospital. You’ll operate, monitor, and maintain power plant equipment, ensuring reliable plant operations and quick response to issues.

You will lead daily tasks, document operations, and support cross-functional teams on maintenance projects while upholding safety and quality standards in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of trade school preferred.
• Relevant license required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Controls, starts, and shuts down primary and auxiliary power plant equipment- including boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, and compressors- using control boards and sequential switches.
• Monitors meters, gauges, and computer systems at established intervals to regulate power flow, adjust water levels, and detect potential operating problems.
• Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs, such as cleaning, lubricating equipment, and tightening leaking joints, to prevent system failure or deterioration.
• Documents plant operations by maintaining accurate logs, completing forms, writing equipment malfunction reports, and handling emergency outage communication.
• Leads team operations by assigning daily work to maximize plant efficiency, assisting with shift scheduling, and training team members on equipment monitoring and maintenance.
• Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on cross-functional teams, participates in informational meetings and workshops, and assists with special projects as assigned.
