Job summary

Ozarks Electric Cooperative Corporation in Fayetteville, AR, is seeking a System Operator I to monitor, control and restore the electric grid from a 24/7 control center, ensuring safe, reliable operation of transmission and distribution systems under NERC, FERC and OECC rules. The position follows a four-days-on, four-days-off night schedule (7 pm–7 am).

A high school diploma is required, with completion of the first module of the System Operator Certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; first module of System Operator Certification within 12 months.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, OMS and related control systems.
  • Ability to operate under safety and regulatory requirements (NERC, OECC, FERC).

Responsibilities

  • Operate radio, take trouble calls and dispatch.
  • Coordinate load requirements for transmission and distribution.
  • Restore service during emergencies and manage switching orders.
  • Monitor system conditions and log data.
  • Maintain compliance with NERC and OECC policies.
