Job summary

City Utilities of Springfield is seeking a Power System Operator/Trainer to support system reliability, coordinate training, and ensure compliance with NERC standards while maintaining the Energy Management System and related tools.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree, relevant power systems experience, and NERC System Operator Certification. Shift work and emergency responsiveness are possible; you will work with field crews and partner utilities to uphold safety and service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or business required.
• Four years of recent power system operations experience preferred.
• NERC System Operator Certification required or achievable within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Follows NERC standards development and training procedures.
• Maintains EMS and power system operation records and reports.
• Develops and delivers bulk power system training content.
• Coordinates drills with interconnected utility partners.
• Ensures compliance and safety through continuous education.
