Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Night shift Live Hanger in Louisiana to join a fast-paced poultry production team. You will insert birds, hang them in shackles, and help maintain a clean, safe work area following USDA and Pilgrim’s standards.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, reporting malfunctions, and supporting teammates while aiming for quality and efficiency. A high school diploma and poultry experience are a plus, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience: Poultry or food industry experience is a plus.
• Skills: Ability to multitask and work quickly, good communication, and ability to follow simple instructions.
• Physical: Lift 50 lbs or more and stand 8–11 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Process poultry products according to USDA and Pilgrim’s standards.
• Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety, food safety, and animal welfare guidelines.
• Support team members by sharing skills and promoting a positive work atmosphere.
• Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet production and quality goals.
• Demonstrate flexibility by performing tasks in different areas of production as needed.
• Cage Dumper- bring in full cage birds and transfer to belt.
• Yard Jockey- manage trailer rotation and bird storage.
• Floor Relief- keep area clean and ensure live hangers take breaks.
• Back-up Killer- assist in throat cutting of missed birds.
• Cage Loader- load/unload cages as required.
