Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Iowa is seeking a polysomnography technologist to perform standard and complex sleep studies under the supervision of the Neurodiagnostic Services Director and medical director.

The role requires preparing and calibrating equipment, applying electrodes, and conducting tests such as MSLT, PAP titration, and sleep stage scoring, with patient education and data documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher degree accepted.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must be credentialed as CRT, RRT, REEGT, or BRPT.
• Must be registered in sleep technology or eligible to sit the registry.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze patient information to determine testing parameters with physician input.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment and apply electrodes per standards.
• Perform polysomnographic procedures including MSLT, MWT, PAP, and oxygen titration.
• Score sleep stages and clinical events; generate accurate reports.
• Provide patient education and ensure data integrity during testing.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Credentialed as CRT, RRT, REEGT, or BRPT

Registered in sleep technology or eligible to sit for registry exam

A-STEP or CAAHEP education pathway
