Job summary

Hydro Extrusions is seeking a Controls & Automation Technician for the St. Augustine, FL area. The role focuses on PLC programming, troubleshooting, and integration of PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators in a heavy industrial setting.

The candidate will work on 3rd shift (11:00PM–7:00AM) with a $1.50 night differential, starting pay of $39–$46 per hour. A multi-craft role with engineering collaboration and CRI initiatives is expected.

Qualifications

3-5 years of hands-on experience programming, troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment.
Demonstrated ability to modify, troubleshoot, and validate PLC ladder logic to support equipment enhancements, process improvements, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Perform intermediate programming and safety configuration of PLC-controlled systems.
Independently develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic using ladder logic and function block.
Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems in industrial environments with minimal supervision.
Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems and related components.
Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators.
Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades and improvements.
Train junior technicians and provide technical support.
Support Continuous Reliability Improvement (CRI) initiatives.
Assist mechanical technicians as needed ~30% of the time.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore operations.
