Job summary

MasTec Industrial is seeking a Pipefitter Journeyman for night shifts in Rapid City, SD. You will lay out, fabricate, install, and maintain piping systems for industrial and HVAC applications, with emphasis on safety and quality. Expect travel to project sites and a 50-hour workweek.

The role requires 4+ years of related experience, pipefitter training, and preferred NCCER/NCCCO certifications. Competitive benefits accompany this full-time position.

Qualifications

• 4+ years related experience or training
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• NCCER/NCCCO or approved 3rd party certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specs
• Inspect worksite for obstructions and structural integrity
• Plan installation sequence to avoid obstructions and coordination issues
• Cut pipe using hacksaw, cutters, torch, or pipe-cutting machines
• Thread pipe using threading machine
• Bend pipe by hand or with tooling
• Assemble and install metal and nonmetal pipe and fittings
• Join pipe with threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, or cemented joints
• Secure pipe to structures with clamps, brackets and hangers
• Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning piping and components
• Test piping system for leaks and pressure
• Weld holding fixtures to structural steel
• Travel to different jobsites on short notice
• Other duties as assigned by Foreman/Superintendent
