Job summary

MasTec Industrial is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to layout, fabricate, install, and maintain piping systems for steam, hot water, HVAC, and industrial processing setups in Mountain Home, Idaho. The role requires 4+ years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and preferred NCCER/NCCCO certifications.

Safely plan work, inspect sites, and travel to multiple sites as needed. Typical hours are 50 per week with up to 90% travel to project locations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED Certification (preferred).
• Applicable Pipefitter training and certificate from NCCER, NCCCO, or from approved 3rd party certification body (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
• Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
• Inspect worksite to determine presence of obstructions and to determine that holes will not cause structural weakness.
• Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers.
• Cut pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine.
• Thread pipe using threading machine.
• Bend pipe by hand or with pipe-bending machine.
• Assemble and install a variety of metal and nonmetal pipe and pipe fittings, including: brass, copper, lead, glass and plastic.
• Join pipe by means of threaded, caulked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused or cemented joints.
• Test piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
• May travel to different jobsites on limited notice.

Education

High school diploma or GED (preferred)

NCCER/NCCCO or approved 3rd party cert (preferred)
