Responsibilities include maintaining supply levels, handling specimens, and supporting the lab with inventory and quality assurance. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, with 4 years of related experience in lieu of formal education.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required; 4 years of equivalent experience may substitute.
• Certification program completion preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or lab assistant license encouraged.

Aufgaben

• Perform venipuncture and skin puncture on all patient ages.
• Identify patients using at least two identifiers for collection and labeling.
• Label aliquots with two patient identifiers.
• Transcribe orders from outside providers as needed.
• Respond to code teams as required.
• Adhere to universal and special precautions per SOPs.
• Manage workload using handheld specimens collection devices.
• Monitor collection lists and pending tests.
• Answer calls with appropriate customer service.
• Work weekends and holidays as assigned.
• Inventory management: ensure supplies are in date and stocked.
• Notify leadership when supplies fall below thresholds.
• Deliver specimens to the appropriate Lab section.
• Communicate complaints or problems to supervisor.
