Job summary

Advocate Health in Sheboygan, WI is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician for a full-time, 40-hour week. The role includes venipuncture, specimen collection across age groups, and seating label accuracy to ensure testing integrity.

Responsibilities cover data entry, basic testing under CLIA guidelines, and support of Billing and inventory. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential in a fast-paced hospital lab environment.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy or related lab function knowledge.
• Basic computer skills and experience with software applications.
• Keyboarding and typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; good listening skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated customer service skills to interact with physicians, patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification and safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from newborn to adult.
• Ensures proper labeling and specimen handling.
• Performs limited CLIA-guided testing per lab policies.
• Responds to calls and assists with inventory, billing and other duties.
• Orders and verifies test requests; enters results and maintains quality control.
• Instructs staff and students in phlebotomy and processing tasks.
• Must adapt care to age-related patient needs.
