Job summary

Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. You will perform phlebotomy procedures, ensure patient safety, and transport specimens under supervision of the Section Manager and LST Coordinator.

The role requires a high school diploma, ASCP/NCA certification, and at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience; hospital lab experience is preferred. Night shift with rotating weekends and strong benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Phlebotomy certification by ASCP and/or NCA required.
• At least 2 years phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience in a large hospital laboratory highly desired.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with a low error rate.
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy procedures and transports laboratory specimens under supervision.
• Draws blood from patients for analysis or other medical purposes.
• Assembles equipment and prepares supplies for tests.
• Verifies patient identity and explains procedures to patients.
